There are those of us that just like quilting all the time.  So we made smaller groups that focus on a particular subject of quilting.  Some of these groups are currently full (though you might like to see what they are doing)- others are open and would welcome you to come to join them. If you would be interested in joining or forming a small group, send a short email message to:   information@shorelinequilters.org   your message will be forwarded to the member who best fills your individual technique.

  • Block of the Month (available for members only)
    •  Red, White & Blue - due at the July meeting
    • String it Along - due at the August meeting

    Mystery Quilt - Winter Blahs (available for members only)

    •     Part one - six are now available

    Paper Piecing without stress:

    One of our members will teach you to paper piece WITH NO STRESS.  Paper piecing is FUN if YOU learn the right procedure!!  There is  beautiful paper pieced quilt that was started for this year, and it got in lou of the Quilt Show, but now we would like to be able finish it. This group will meet every two week at anyone's home that wishes to have 3-4 members join us, or her home.!!  For more information please send email email to information@shorelinequilters.org

  • Community Service

The guild sponsors two groups that make quilts for people in need i.e.. Illness or catastrophic events such as a house fire. The daytime group is Community Quilters and the nighttime group is Night Owls. If you are unable to attend one of these workshops and you would like to do work at home, please let Marty know and work will be provided to you. As an ongoing project, the paper-pieced Log Cabin and Pineapple sheets with centers to match existing blocks, will be available at guild meetings, to work on at home until they run out.  If you would like a quilt for someone with a serious illness, who you know would enjoy receiving a quilt, please let Marty know.  Please remember that all dates are weather permitting, any questions, please call.   2008 Calendar Year Dates are listed below – Won’t you mark your calendar in advance – so you’ll be sure to remember to join us. Fabric and most notions will be provided. Dates subject to change due to consensus of the group

Community Quilters  Next Meetings are  July 17th & Aug 21st

Meets the third Thursday of each month, from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford, on the Green, near Town Hall. It is the white church with steeples and red doors. Please come and join us. We need your help to sew, cut, iron, and assemble tops, layer, and machine quilt. There is something for everyone. Please bring your own bag lunch, coffee and tea will be provided. We welcome those who would like to join us :     This group usually meets the 3rd Thursday of each month.  Future Dates include:   *Jul 17 –* Aug 21 – Sept 18 – Oct  16 – Nov 20 – Dec 11.

  Night Owls          Next Meeting is Thursday, July 10th & Aug 14th

Everyone is welcome to attend.  Night Owls meets 6:00PM – 9:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Branford, which is located next door to the old Bittersweet Farms Complex, traveling east on Route #1. We will be meeting the first or second Thursday of the month (not the Thursday following the Guild meeting if they fall in the same week). Please bring your machine if it is portable. If you plan to attend but need a machine, please let Marty know prior to the meeting. Please go down the right side of the church – Ring bell to be let in.  Church activities have priority over Night Owls     As Church activities have priority  some of these future dates may be subject to change.   Jul 10, Aug 14, Sept 4, Oct 2, No meeting in November and December
